I CALL TO ORDER –
7:15 p.m. Chairman Amico called the meeting to order.
II Dispatchers Contract – Mr. Read informed the Board that the Dispatchers have approved the terms of the contract which consisted of 1 ½ increase July 1, 2012 and
1 ½% increase on June 30, 2013 which are the same terms as all the other unions except Fire which is still in negotiations.
MOTION by Howard, second by Egan to approve the Dispatchers Contract. Voted 5 - 0
III Town Meeting – Mr. Read informed that Board that the School Committee will be amending the budget to increase the school line to meet the 6% increase they had requested. The School Committee will be attempting to use stabilization funds. Mr. Read reported that Whitman is only funding 1% and requiring the schools to get the additional 5% through an override ballot question. Mr. Read indicated that he will be speaking in support of changing the Highway Surveyor from elected to appointed. He will also be explaining the budget and its new format.
MOTION by Egan, second by Howard to recess to Town Meeting. Voted 5 - 0
7:22 p.m. Recessed to Town Meeting.
